moosevox asked: How do you define a person’s comfort zone? What do you think is out of your comfort zone?
Comfort zones are different for everybody. What makes me uncomfortable may not make another person bat an eyelash. And the parameters of one’s comfort zone are entirely self-imposed. I feel that sometimes it’s good to challenge yourself and see if you can do something new and exciting that might be out of your comfort zone. Sometimes, it can expand and enrich your life. For instance, I have a friend who went sky diving for her birthday last year and loved it so much that she started doing it daily. She is now licensed and it’s one of her biggest passions. On the other hand, if you try something and don’t like it, you can say at least you tried and then you can go back to something that makes you feel more at ease. Personally, some things that take me out of my comfort zone include: public speaking, swimming in large bodies of water, and wearing clothes that show off my form. While I try to do those things occasionally to challenge myself, I do not feel like I would be able to do them daily. I am a big old weenie.
